Deputy commander of Russian Volunteer Corps abducted, released, but questions remain over SSU role
Deputy commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps, Stepan Kaplunov, was abducted in late August and released on 2 September. A standoff between Ukraine's Security Service and Defence Intelligence left three DIU servicemen wounded. His lawyer accuses the SSU of an unlawful detention and calls their official account a PR stunt.
